Free PDF Laptop bag pattern – Allsewpetite

Hello my crafty friends!!! How is your weekend so far? I am very excited to introduce you to my latest bag pattern, which is also absolutely FREE to all of my Newsletter subscribers!!! Yeahhhhhh

It is a classic laptop bag and the pattern is available in two sizes: large, which fits a 15.5″ laptop and small for a 13” laptop or tablet.

The casual design of this laptop bag is perfect for everyday use! It features spacious external slip and zipper pockets which are great for storing your belongings with an easy on the go access and one additional slip pocket inside.

Moreover, this bag can be held by hand or can be carried on your shoulder thanks to the adjustable strap. The bag is fully lined, and the seams are finished with a binding tape.

Supplies needed

Please note: The fabric recommendation is based on the large size of the laptop bag.

You may need an additional amount of fabric with a directional print.

  • 145 cm / 80 cm (57”/ 31 ½”) External fabric
  • 145 cm / 90 cm (57” / 39 ½”) Lining fabric
  • 90 cm / 55 cm (35 ½” / 21 ½”) Heavyweight, stable interfacing such as Fast 2 Fuse Heavy, Fusible foam stabilizer, Fusible Fleece, etc.
  • 145 cm / 170 cm (57” / 67”) Lightweight fusible interfacing such as Stayflex, Pellon SF101 etc.
  • 2.5 cm (1″) Rectangle rings x 2
  • 59 cm (23 ¼”) Large bag or 50 cm (19 ½”) Small bag#5 Zipper x 1
  • 39 cm (15 ¼”) Large bag or 32 cm (12 ½”) Small bag#5 Zipper x 1
  • 1.8 cm (3/4”) Magnetic snap x 1
  • 2.5 cm (1”) Strap adjuster / slider x 1
  • 1.8 cm (3/4”) Bias tape x 3 m (3.3 yd)
  • Rivets x 7 (optional)
  • Double-sided tape (optional)

    1. Hi Carol, you get a copy of the pattern when you sign up to the Newsletter, so just click on the box saying “Sign up to the Newsletter” on the bottom of this post 😉

      Did you get the “Welcome” email when you subscribed to receive the newsletter? Check your Spam folder just in case and let me know please.

      1. In the welcome email there are blue buttons ” laptop bag pattern”, “sewing instructions” and “pattern layout”. when you click on them you will download each file. If you have any problems I will email you the pattern separately, just drop me an email so I know which email address to send it to.

  3. Is this pattern only available for new subscribers? I am already a subscriber to the newsletter, but re-entered my email to get this pattern. However I did not receive a link.

  4. I have already signed up for your newsletter, and am receiving them, but I don’t see how I can download any of your free patterns. There doesn’t seem to be any way to create an account. Your website is quite lovely, but not very user friendly.
