Hello, my crafty friends! I am excited to release this new pattern, the Winnie needle book. It is one of two projects I have made in collaboration with modes4U.com for Mother’s Day. You can read the whole story on their blog 😉 (CLICK HERE).
Winnie needle book is a fantastic fabric scrap buster and the ideal project to level up your bias binding sewing skills. But don’t let this scare you! Even if you are a newbie, you can give it a try. I promise you will not be disappointed!

What Makes The Winnie Need Book Special?
Winnie needle book is perfect for storing all sewing essentials in one place. It fits nicely in a handbag, so it is ideal for crafting on the go or as an emergency mending kit!
Winnie is securely closed with a magnetic snap and features various slip pockets and a pocket with a flap, so there is plenty of room to keep a spool of thread, a pair of scissors, a thimble, a seam ripper, safety pins, a tape measure and so much more. The front cover is gently padded, so it can also be used as a pincushion.
The inside “pages” are cut from felt, which is ideal for storing needles or pins. You can decorate them with a contrasting fabric patch, vintage ribbon, buttons or lace. The outside edge is finished with a bias binding, but some of my testers have used a double-folded elastic. I haven’t tried it, but they swear by it 😉

- 30 cm / 55 cm (11 3⁄4” / 21 5⁄8”) Lining fabric: quilting cotton, linen etc.

Winnie can be used not only as an adorable and functional travel sewing kit but also as a mini first-aid case or a manicure pouch.
It would make a lovely gift for someone special!
It comes together very quickly, so why not make a few and fill up your craft stall at the local market? After all, you probably have enough scraps, and in place of magnetic snaps, you can use Kam snaps or add an elastic loop and a button.
Finished measurements: Height / Width / Depth
15 cm / 13 cm / 2 cm (6” / 5 1⁄4” / 3⁄4”)
Skill level: Confident beginner
