Easy Sewing Project: Make Your Own Earbuds Holder

Today, I’m going to show you how to make a simple earbuds holder that works perfectly for small wireless earbuds cases.

The idea for this project actually came from when I was working on the mini snap keychain pouch for a friend. At one point, I wasn’t sure if a flat pouch would be enough, so I started thinking about a slightly more structured, three-dimensional version instead. In the end, the flat design worked perfectly for her, but that little design thought stuck with me.

That’s what led to this project.

Easy Scrap Busting Project

This is one of those small projects that comes together really quickly, which makes it perfect if you want a satisfying make without committing to something big.

You only need a small amount of fabric for this one, so it’s ideal for using up scraps left over from other bag projects. This project works best with fabrics that hold their shape and do not fray, since the edges are left raw. I like to use cork, vinyl and faux leather!

The design has a small flap with a snap closure, and to make this flat pouch more three-dimensional, I extended the front panel and added small side pieces, almost like little wings, which are then stitched to the sides. This creates a boxy shape, giving the pouch enough depth to comfortably fit small wireless earbud cases.

It also includes a small connector piece so you can easily attach it to your keys, bag, or backpack using a snap and a keyring or chain.

If you want to make your own version, I’ve created a free printable template so you can skip the guesswork and start sewing straight away.

Make Your Earbuds Holder in Minutes!

I also filmed a short video tutorial where I show you exactly how to make this earbuds holder from start to finish.

I walk you through cutting out your fabric using the printable template, preparing the small connector piece, and assembling the main body of the holder. You’ll also see how the flap comes together with the snap closure, and how the side pieces are added to create that boxy, three-dimensional shape.

Grab your supplies, and in just a few minutes, you will have your own version ready to use! It’s a fun little project to try if you have never sewn with cork, vinyl, or faux leather before, and a great way to get comfortable working with these materials on a small, manageable make.

It also makes a lovely handmade gift, especially when paired with a matching pouch or keychain set. Simple, quick, and actually useful in everyday life.
